It’s not about us, it’s about you. We are here to help guide you become a better version of yourself. We want to really get to know you, your goals, fears, motivators. You’re not just a body part with an injury. You’re someone who wants to live better and is smart enough to get some help.

One On One Personalized Treatment

Our patients are scheduled for one hour with their physical therapist for every session. You will not find that anywhere else. We are skilled professional clinicians who will personally and efficiently guide you through every aspect of your care. This approach allows us to get to the source of your problem, limit unnecessary visits, expedite your recovery and allows you to be actively involved in the process. Although we may have seen your injury before in other patients, your goals are different than the last patient. We will treat you, not just your injury.

We are aware that other offices claim they provide one on one treatment, but they are still scheduling patients every 15-20 minutes. This means a limited time with the therapist and the rest of the time patients are with a technician or aide who is not licensed, nor has any formal physical therapy education. Even worse, you may be left alone to complete your exercises. This wastes time, money and prolongs discomfort. Unfortunately, this is all too common and patients feel that is how all physical therapy must be. YOU WILL NOT be treated that way at Professional Physical Therapy & Training.

Most Current Treatment Techniques

Our clinicians have gone through specialized training in some of the most effective and cutting edge treatment techniques. This includes, but is not limited to, the Graston Technique and Intramuscular Dry Needling.

The Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization which enables our clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. Following this technique, your therapist will provide you with stretching, strengthening or functional movement training to limit the fibrosis or adhesions from returning.

The procedure known as Dry Needling is an important tool for diagnosing, treating and monitoring changes in elusive painful conditions. Myofascial trigger points and tender points, which appear in soft tissue, are painful sites and reflect abnormal neuro-muscular activity, which are commonly associated with the painful conditions that are treated in our office. During this procedure a sterile, very thin solid filament needle is inserted into the tissue associated with one or a number of sources of pain. The manipulation of the trigger point breaks the pain cycle and movement restrictions are abated. Following this procedure, the therapist will then provide the patient with other exercises or stretching to prevent the trigger points and movement restrictions from reforming.

Long Term Follow Through

While under our care, we will instruct you on how to stay injury free for the long term. At times we may recommend well visits for patients to review and upgrade exercise programs to keep injuries from reoccurring or even prevent new ones from happening. Since working with you individually will give us an in depth knowledge about your particular goals, movement habits and conditions, we will easily be able to reprioritize and refocus your program even if it is months or years since your last visit. With our personal style of patient management, we are just a call or email away. If you happen to be a member of the YMCA, we will always be just up the stairs or down the hall from where you are working out if you have a question or need a quick review. We hope to earn your trust to become “your physical therapists” for whatever musculoskeletal or mobility problem that you may have now or in the future.
